Banking with the best - Mozo announces the best bank and savings accounts for 2019

If you’ve ever wondered what makes a top bank and savings account, then today is your lucky day because we’ve just announced the winners of our 2019 Mozo Experts Choice Deposit Awards.

This year, our Mozo Experts sifted through 455 products for personal customers from 70 providers before awarding the top 10% for each category.

Online bank, ING was awarded was awarded the top gong of Everyday Bank of the Year, while UBank took home the title of Savings Bank of the Year.

“For many a bank and savings account might be just a place to store your cash, but it’s important to find the best fit for your needs,” said Mozo Product Data Manager and Mozo Experts Choice judge, Peter Marshall.

“These awards are designed to highlight the products that offer exceptional value for all types of banking, from kids to pensioner accounts.”

Bank of Queensland and Greater Bank each collected an award for their savings accounts for young savers.

And our experts also selected winners for pensioner accounts, small business everyday and savings accounts and SMSF accounts.

Other major winners included AMP, which received a whopping 10 awards across a range of categories, including Small Business Savings Bank of the Year and SMSF Savings Bank of the Year.

Banking Excellence in Innovation

Digital bank, Up Bank proudly took home two awards in the Exceptional Everyday Account and Regular Saver categories.

Winners in the Excellent Banking App category included Bendigo Bank, Bank Australia and People’s Choice Credit Union.

For this category, our judges compared a series banking apps based on their user experience functions and features, like Osko payment services, account ‘Quick-view’ and Apple, Samsung or Google Pay functionality.

“Customers are relying on their smartphones more than ever to manage their money, which is why we decided to give out awards not just for internet banking, but for money management and savings innovation,” Marshall said.

“We want to acknowledge the providers who offer their customers products that can actually make a difference in their money management, like ING’s Savings with IFTTT (If This Then That).”
