86 400’s recently launched Neat Home Loan ticks a lot of boxes as a low rate, low fee option for borrowers looking to keep their costs to a minimum. Add in the handy features and a limited time cashback deal and this could certainly be a loan worth taking a closer look at. It's little wonder why the 86 400 Neat Home Loan has taken home two 2021 Mozo Experts Choice Awards for best Low Cost Home Loan and best Investor Home Loan.

Neobank 86 400 is flirting with the lowest variable rates on the market with its Neat Home Loan offer for owner occupiers and investors. While the loan has low interest rates across the board, it really rewards borrowers with lower loan-to-value ratios (LVRs) with the most competitive rates. Here’s where they sit:

  • LVR <60%: 2.09% (2.10% comparison rate*) for owner occupiers and 2.39% (2.40% comparison rate*) for investors 

  • LVR 60-70%: 2.29% (2.30% comparison rate*) for owner occupiers and 2.49% (2.50% comparison rate*) for investors 

  • LVR 70-80%: 2.34% (2.35% comparison rate*) for owner occupiers and 2.59% (2.60% comparison rate*) for investors 

  • LVR 80-85%: 2.54% (2.55% comparison rate*) for owner occupiers 

The Neat Home Loan is also light on fees. 86 400 does not charge lenders mortgage insurance for its high LVR loans. All homeowners will need to budget for is the $250 settlement fee (and potentially a valuation fee if valuation costs are over $300) because there are no other upfront fees or ongoing fees to worry about.

Borrowers have the flexibility of being able to choose their repayment schedule (weekly, fortnightly or monthly) and they can also make extra repayments towards their outstanding loan balance for free. The loan also features a redraw facility, but borrowers with their heart’s set on an offset account will have to look elsewhere.
