Car insurers quiver as 'Kenny' lands Top Gear job
Shane Jacobson, who played lovable plumber Kenny in the 2006 film of the same name, has been announced as the new co-host of Top Gear Australia.
Jacobson appears to be a perfect choice for the role given his current ownership of car, bus, semi-trailer, forklift, scissor lift, jet ski and boat licences, news.com.au reported.
While expressing delight at landing the job, Jacobson admitted that the show’s car insurance providers may not be sharing in the joy.
"Let me just say I’m as happy as Elvis in a room full of burgers," he said.
"But the people who pay the insurance aren’t quite so excited. I think they feel like Guy Fawkes has just been given the keys to the explosives factory – and they’re right."
Indeed, the Top Gear producers may wish to compare car insurance before Jacobson takes any motors out onto the track.
Meanwhile, the Hastings Leader reported last week that car hire firm Drive 1 Team is now allowing parents with learner teenagers to rent dual-control cars.
