New WorldFirst customers who sign up & make their first transfer in May 2019 receive $50 Myer gift card!

This just in: international money transfer specialist, WorldFirst just dropped a hot new offer. New customers who sign up to a new WorldFirst account and make their first transfer of AUD $5,000 or more in May 2019 will receive a $50 Myer gift card. Not a bad deal if you still need to buy mum a Mother’s Day present!

But, while a $50 gift card is a sweet bonus, it's not all you should consider when choosing an IMT service provider. Here are a few tips on how to find the right one.

How to find the right IMT provider for you:

What type of customer are you? The IMT provider you choose will depend on whether you plan on making personal or business-related international money transfers. While many IMT providers offer services to both types of customers, some will specialise in either one or the other. You can filter your search results on our IMT comparison table to show only ‘personal’ or ‘business’ IMT accounts, depending on your specific needs.

Check the exchange rate: Make sure you check the exchange rates on offer when choosing an IMT provider. The better the exchange rate, the more foreign currency you get.

Pay attention to transfer limits: When it comes to IMT there is usually a minimum and maximum transfer amount, so be sure to check this out before signing up as it could potentially be the reason you don’t go with that particular IMT provider.

Do they offer online money transfers? Look into what money transfer options are available before making your final decision. Most IMT providers offer online and over the phone money transfer services, but very few provide in-person money transfers option, so if this is what you want then you might end up having to go with a bank, which means you probably won't get the best rate.

If you don’t know the first thing about IMT, have a flick through our International Money Transfer Jargon Buster guide, or, check out our IMT comparison table to find the right option for you.
