The Power Up home loan from Athena offers variable rates starting from 6.54% p.a. (6.50% p.a. comparison rate*), an offset account to help you save on interest, and the option to split your loan into multiple accounts. And for those who need a bit of motivation to pay down their loan, Athena automatically discounts your interest rate as your loan-to-value ratio goes down.
The Power Up home loan offers plenty that borrowers will appreciate. Variable rates start at 6.54% p.a. (6.50% p.a. comparison rate*) on 80% LVR loans (P&I, OO), but Athena’s AcceleRATES feature will automatically apply rate discounts as you pass into lower LVR tiers. They are:
Liberate: 70-80%
Evaporate: 60-70%
Celebrate: 50-60%
Obliterate: <50%
You’ll also have access to an offset account, which can save you a substantial amount of money over the life of the loan. It does this by reducing the balance on which interest is charged by the amount of money you have in the account.
You’ll also be able to split your loan into as many as ten different accounts, meaning you can take advantage of both fixed and variable rates and the features that come with each.
While you’ll be able to pay down your loan ahead of schedule without encountering any fees, you won’t be able to redraw those funds if you need them later on. So make sure to think carefully if you plan on making extra repayments — they might be better off sitting in the offset account, where you can easily withdraw them to cover any emergency expenses.
