I have been with AAMI several years and have had a few claims as I used to drive extensively for work. Submitting a claim was always very easy and the staff are very friendly. You can submit claims via an app which is great. What’s not great but I think is standard across industry these days is AAMI will often send cars for “smart repair”. We have had dodgy filling applied to car bodywork rather than panel beating or replacement of damaged panels- only discovered after new damage to the same section uncovered it. I would therefore recommend always choosing your own repairer.

Budget provide a good combination of price, service and value. Making a claim was relatively simple but be aware that the standard hire car they offer is a hatchback only despite what vehicle you have (I.e. I have a mid size SUV and they will only provide a hatchback if your car needs repair from a ‘not at fault’ accident).
RACV was my insurer. When i drove i only had third party fire and theft as it was my first car so low on funds for extras. Disappointing thing was though a vandal jumped on my roof and bonet, my insurance didnt cover it. My car ended up having to be written off.

They use trade in value to provide car valuations. I was clearly able to show research, comparison valuations from drive, red book and car sales that my car was worth more money and was still denied to increase my agreed value.
AAMI service and products are competitive. The app and web interface is simple, easy and nice looking. Their customer service is professional and fast. However, I don't like how easy for them to disregard my loyalty. I have been a trusted customer for years but on occasion, I (accidentally) haven't had funds in my bank account for the periodical direct debits and so AAMI have been quick to close my account and to discard the good my standing and rewards that I build up. It makes me feel like they are a friend with amnesia.
The best part of this insurance is that you earn Flybuys when you pay it! It is the lowest cost insurance that I found on the market. It’s perfect if you are looking for an affordable option and like to collect Flybuys. I have only had good experiences with them.
Great with the flashy emails for gift cards and discounts if you sign up. But then they say you aren’t eligible after the fact.
I have never had any problems with the NRMA. Always friendly and very helpful. Would recommend them to anyone.
