Mozo reveals the best travel insurance policies for 2019
Every year, millions of Aussies gear up to take a trip somewhere in the world. And with looking at flights, packing luggage and organising accommodation being the (let’s be honest) more exciting parts of planning a trip, it’s not uncommon for travellers to overlook the importance of taking out travel insurance or not knowing what makes a top policy.
So if you’ve got an upcoming trip in the works, your timing could not be more perfect, because we’ve just unveiled our 2019 Mozo Experts Choice Travel Insurance Awards!
To uncover this year’s winners, our judges analysed 243 international travel insurance policies from 66 different travel insurers.
Our award winners were then rewarded for either offering Exceptional Value or Exceptional Quality Travel Insurance.
The Exceptional Value Awards were determined by looking for policies which were the most affordable, for a minimum standard of cover, while Exceptional Quality Award winners were determined by how well a policy performed on a range of factors, such as the extent of cover and any included benefits.
“One of the more tricky bits with travel insurance is that no holiday is the same and not everyone is after the same type of cover, so there can never be a one-size fits all approach and our awards reflect that,” said Mozo Expert Judge, Peter Marshall.
“Whether you’re boarding a cruise or jetting off to a foreign land, our awards highlight some of the products in the market we believe are worth considering.”
Travelling with the best
The clear standout among the pack was World2Cover, which not only took out the title of Travel Insurer of the Year for the second year in a row but a whopping 10 other Mozo Experts Choice Awards.
“World2Cover performed outstandingly in this year’s awards and are taking home 10 awards, especially when you consider the fact that we looked at more than 60 different insurers,” said Marshall.
“What’s even more impressive is that some of their products won in both our Value and Quality categories, so not only are they easy on the wallet, they offer outstanding levels of cover too.”
“Plus, knowing they received the same prestigious title from last year is a true testament to the quality and value they provide through their products.”
Other winners included Jetstar, which received an award for its Premium Comprehensive policy, InsureandGo for its Bare Essentials policy and RACV who took home three awards.
Travel Insurance Saver and 1cover were also among the winners in this year’s awards.
