The world economy is in trouble and so is interest rate setting. Is Australia the next greece.The world economy is unbalanced and uneven.

Very full service - I have a sizeable sterling deposit, which is doing well in terms of FX, but the interest rate is derisory. So full service.
HSBC are extremely efficient in the way they operate the account. Their rate is competitive in respect of the length of the term. I wish they would offer better rates on longer terms.
The interest rates offered are the lowest around, there is clearly no attempt to even compete. When I called up to inquire about the rates while the consultant was friendly, she instead tried to sell me a high interest account without listening to my needs. Because HSBC is still a small bank in Australia there are limited branches which makes it much more trouble for the customer in terms of organising forms to be mailed or faxed (can you believe they don't allow you to email anything in!) and constant phone calls to chase things up!
HSBC made a terrible mistake with interest calculation and kept denying the mistake. In other words, HSBC intentionally try to deceive me. When i sent a complaint to their customer relations, no reply. When i resent another complaint, again no reply. HSBC is one lousy lazy bum bank. DO not bank with it.
good interest rate, but some FD product duration period to long, pro - can log in the fixed interest for 5 yrs con - 5 yrs is a bit long, if want to use the fund need to break the term n would face pelnity
HSBC provide the best service for business and personal customers. HSBC treat customers as valued customers, the service goes beyond expectations in some areas. Great service, good understanding of what we require, proactive in finding the best options / solutions to a problem.
High fee when using the teller service, which should be remove given that u need to use the service only when issuing bank cheque which already incur fee and on top of that u need to pay teller fee. Teller should be eliminated.
Different interest rates apply to different amounts or different interest payment frequencies.
